This Privacy Policy describes how the "Data Dump" Google Sheets Add-on ("the Add-on") handles your information. Your privacy is important to us, and we are committed to being transparent about our data practices.
Please note: This Add-on is designed to operate entirely within your Google Sheet environment. It does not transmit any of your spreadsheet data to external servers or third parties.
1. Information We Collect
The Add-on primarily processes and stores data within your Google Sheet. It collects the following types of information:
Configuration Data: This includes settings you define, such as the names of the output columns for your transformed data. This configuration is stored as a JSON string in a hidden sheet within your active Google Sheet (named AppConfig).
Raw Data: This refers to the data you paste into the designated "Data Dump" sheet for temporary processing. The Add-on accesses this data to perform transformations as per your configuration.
Transformed Data: This is the result of the Add-on's data transformation process, which is written to the "Transformed Data" sheet within your active Google Sheet.
2. How We Use Your Information
The information collected by the Add-on is used solely for the following purposes:
To provide Add-on functionality: To enable you to configure output columns, import raw data, and transform it into a structured format within your Google Sheet.
To store your preferences: The configuration data allows the Add-on to remember your settings for future use within that specific Google Sheet.
3. How Your Information is Stored
All data (configuration, raw, and transformed) processed by the Add-on is stored exclusively within the Google Sheet where the Add-on is installed.
Your Data Stays With You: The Add-on does not send any of your spreadsheet content, raw data, transformed data, or configuration data to any external databases, servers, or third-party services.
Storage Location: Your data resides entirely on Google's infrastructure as part of your Google Sheet document.
4. Data Sharing
We do not share, sell, rent, or trade any of your data processed by this Add-on with third parties. As the Add-on operates solely within your Google Sheet and does not transmit data externally, there is no sharing of your data with us or any other entity.
5. Data Retention
Your data (configuration, raw data, and transformed data) persists within your Google Sheet for as long as you choose to retain that Google Sheet document. If you delete the Google Sheet, the data associated with it will also be deleted in accordance with Google's data retention policies.
6. Security
While the Add-on itself does not transmit data externally, it relies on the security measures provided by Google Sheets and Google's infrastructure to protect your data at rest and in transit (between your browser and Google's servers). You are responsible for the security of your Google account and the Google Sheets documents you create.
7. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy within the Add-on's listing or through other appropriate channels. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
